We're leaning in to motherhood over the age of thirty five!
Join Jessica, Sonia and the online community that every ‘geriatric’ mama wants to be a part of for real-life ‘advanced maternal age’ fertility journeys, parenting and motherhood stories!
‘Geriatric’ Mamas is a real and unfiltered podcast about fertility over the age of thirty five and life as ‘advanced maternal aged’ mamas, hosted by Jessica Rizzieri and Sonia Tapley.
Neither of them were familiar with the term ‘Geriatric Pregnancy’ before getting pregnant… Who is?! It’s outdated, beyond offensive and also kind of hilarious; so they’re leaning in to the humor of it!
Join them every week to hear fertility journeys, crazy things fertility doctors have said to pregnant women over the age of thirty five, birth stories, parenting stories, recipes, health and wellness finds, funny motherhood stories, and whatever else their ‘geriatric’ mama hearts want to share with you!
Let’s lean in to ‘geriatric’ parenthood together, mamas!

Have your journey to motherhood featured on the ‘Geriatric’ Mamas podcast!
So many women have kept their fertility struggles a secret, and endured their pain alone. It doesn’t need to feel so isolating.
If you or someone you know is 35+ and struggled with fertility, experienced heartbreaking fostering or adoption challenges, endured a miscarriage, or were perhaps flat out told by a doctor that you will never conceive naturally, and eventually found your happy ending by becoming a mama, your story could be what keeps another woman going on her journey to her miracle baby!
Send us your story and it could be featured on the next HOPEisode!

This week, the Geriatric Mamas are covering the full spectrum of womanhood: questionable men, maternal mental health, and apparently a complete inability to safely operate a grill. Jess revisits the trauma of dating a grown man committed to World of Warcraft, and considers whether Mother of Dragons might actually be the strongest possible dating-app aesthetic. Then things get much more serious as Sonia and Jess discuss the ongoing Lindsay Clancy case, postpartum psychosis, and the terrifying gaps that can exist between a mother saying “I need help” and actually receiving the level of intervention she needs. They talk about postpartum mental health, sleep deprivation, medication, maternity leave, the testimony coming out of the trial, and the questions the case is raising for them as mothers. And because nobody should leave Geriatric Mamas emotionally devastated, Sonia attempts to bring everyone back to civilization with a wholesome story about Hampton Beach, only for it to reveal what a seagull once stole off her family's grill.
